What are the charges and how long do I have to wait for my delivery?

Why don’t we include delivery in the price?

ALL our parts are sent out for next day delivery! That’s normal, not a premium from us. Our web site calculates the cost on the weight of your order. We almost exclusively use FedEx as our preferred courier as they are well known to be simply one of the best. Where items are sent by Royal Mail they will be posted 1st Class with proof of posting. If items are shipped abroad we will get an individual quote for you and offer a choice of delivery options but always with reputable couriers, mainly FedEx, UPS & Parcel Force. We never send parcels on a courier that can’t be tracked. All overseas orders MUST be placed over the phone or by email. The web site is only configured to service UK customers. You cannot set up an account where your account location does not have a UK post code.

Where will I see the delivery cost?

Because of the nature of the parts we sell, many of them are heavy and large! We do our best to keep delivery costs to a minimum, but without compromising the service we have always aimed to build our reputation on. Our web site calculates the shipping cost depending on the weight of your order. This is done when you “confirm the order” at the checkout/shopping cart, prior to you having made any commitment to buy or having been transferred to our secure payments page. So if you would like to know how much it will cost to have your parcel delivered, simply add the items to your basket, create an account- which is FREE and only takes a moment, proceed to checkout. You have not bought anything at this stage! DON’T PANIC. The delivery cost will now be displayed for you. You can still go back and change your order as many times as you want. Delivery charges are calculated automatically. Some items like brake discs are inherently expensive to send, although small they are heavy!

How quickly will I get my order?

All web orders placed before 2pm will be processed the same day and dispatched for next day delivery between 9am and 5pm. Although we make every effort to ensure you receive your package the following day, we cannot offer any compensation for late delivery. We can also offer a before 10am delivery service at a premium. Please call for a quote on this special service. Standard deliveries do NOT include Saturday. We pride ourselves on our service and can assure you we make every effort to get all orders out the same day of business, even those that come in after 2pm. However we must give priority to orders in before the 2pm cut off. No orders are dispatched on Bank Holidays. We can proudly say we have had an excellent success rate in the last 12 months of on time deliveries.

How to avoid frustration

All parcels sent on couriers will require a signature. We can offer two options to help. 1) If you are likely to be out, you can leave a note on the front door addressed to the FedEx driver with instruction where to leave your parcel within reason. You must sign and date this so he can take this note as proof of delivery away with him. 2) You can tell us which day you would like your parcel to be delivered Mon-Fri and we will dispatch it the day before on a next day service. You can add these instructions in the comments box at checkout. We hope to make your delivery as easy as possible whilst still ensuring the security of your purchase.

Highlands & Islands

If you live in the Highlands or Islands we will, as always, do our very best to keep charges to a minimum. As you will be aware, couriers charge a premium to these areas, Royal Mail & Parcel Force charges have also increased significantly. If in any doubt, please either send us an email or call on 01234 480808. The web site will calculate delivery to your areas based on your post code and the weight of your order. Your delivery time may be longer – again, contact us if you need any help. If we see a problem, we will always call you before we dispatch your order. Costs for affected post codes do carry a premium on the table below on some higher weight categories. Here is a basic list of our current rates in kg. And inclusive of VAT, at time of publication. 0.0 – 0.90 = £3.80**0.90 – 1.2 = £5.95**1.2– 2.0 = £6.95**2.0 – 4.0 = £7.95**4.0 – 6.0 = £11.40**6.0 – 20.0 = £12.95**20.0 – 40.0 = £19.95**40.0 – 50.0 =£26.40 Once the delivery cost exceeds £6.95 we will usually exclusively send the order on our preferred courier. PLEASE NOTE: Where weights of parcels are very close to a break point, the site will round up to the next price bracket. This is to account for actual packaging weight on top of the product weight. Weights are nominal. E&OE.
